Supportive Well-Being Therapy

About Lindsay

I’m Lindsay Bacala, a registered social worker with more than a decade of experience helping children, youth, adults, and couples navigate life’s challenges.

My practice focuses on supporting clients dealing with OCD, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, borderline personality disorder and relationship concerns, among others, drawing from a wide range of clinical approaches to address each individual or family’s unique needs.

I also have specialized experience supporting older adults and their families, including those navigating dementia, long-term care transitions, and end-of-life decisions such as medical assistance in dying (MAiD).

Recognizing the emotional and practical complexities these situations bring, I provide compassionate guidance to help individuals and their loved ones make informed decisions and find meaningful support along the way.

I am committed to evidence-based therapies and integrate several modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dignity Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma. For couples seeking to improve their connection and communication, I employ the Gottman Method. My goal is to create a collaborative, empathetic environment in which clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to find meaningful change and growth.

In addition to my clinical work, I am pursuing a PhD in Social Work at the University of Manitoba, where my research explores assessment and care planning for hoarding behaviors. I also serve as a sessional instructor at the University of Manitoba’s Faculty of Social Work, where I teach aspiring social workers about best practices, research, and policy. Beyond the university, I offer training seminars in community and healthcare settings to share knowledge and skills that improve mental health services.

Whether you’re facing life transitions, coping with overwhelming emotions, or striving to build healthier relationships, I’m here to support you every step of the way. Feel free to reach out so we can begin working toward the well-being and resilience you deserve.
